Thomas More and John Fisher<br \/>\nJune 22, 2015<br \/>\nGen 12:1-9, Ps 33, Mt 7:1-5<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>To listen to an audio recording of today&#8217;s homily, please click below:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-9275-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/catholicpreaching.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/6.22.15-Homily-1.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/catholicpreaching.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/6.22.15-Homily-1.mp3\">https:\/\/catholicpreaching.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/6.22.15-Homily-1.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The readings for today&#8217;s Mass were:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"bibleReadingsWrapper\">\n<h4>Reading 1\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/genesis\/12:1\">GN 12:1-9<\/a><\/h4>\n<div class=\"poetry\">The LORD said to Abram:<br \/>\n\u201cGo forth from the land of your kinsfolk<br \/>\nand from your father\u2019s house to a land that I will show you.<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry\">\u201cI will make of you a great nation,<br \/>\nand I will bless you;<br \/>\nI will make your name great,<br \/>\nso that you will be a blessing.<br \/>\nI will bless those who bless you<br \/>\nand curse those who curse you.<br \/>\nAll the communities of the earth<br \/>\nshall find blessing in you.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry\">Abram went as the LORD directed him, and Lot went with him.<br \/>\nAbram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.<br \/>\nAbram took his wife, Sarai, his brother\u2019s son Lot,<br \/>\nall the possessions that they had accumulated,<br \/>\nand the persons they had acquired in Haran,<br \/>\nand they set out for the land of Canaan.<br \/>\nWhen they came to the land of Canaan,<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry\">Abram passed through the land<br \/>\nas far as the sacred place at Shechem,<br \/>\nby the terebinth of Moreh.<br \/>\n(The Canaanites were then in the land.)The LORD appeared to Abram and said,<br \/>\n\u201cTo your descendants I will give this land.\u201d<br \/>\nSo Abram built an altar there to the LORD who had appeared to him.<br \/>\nFrom there he moved on to the hill country east of Bethel,<br \/>\npitching his tent with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east.<br \/>\nHe built an altar there to the LORD and invoked the LORD by name.<br \/>\nThen Abram journeyed on by stages to the Negeb.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bibleReadingsWrapper\">\n<h4>Responsorial Psalm\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/33:12\">PS 33:12-13, 18-19, 20 AND 22<\/a><\/h4>\n<div class=\"poetry\">R.
