St. Paul shows us the five properties indicated by Jesus&#8217; calling us to be that salt and light:\n<ul>\n<li>Christ wants us for him to prevent corruption, as Paul did.<\/li>\n<li>Christ wants us for him to light others on fire, as Paul did.<\/li>\n<li>Christ wants us to lend a flavor of life, as Paul did.<\/li>\n<li>Christ\u00a0wants us to illumine others with the truth that comes from God.<\/li>\n<li>Christ wants us to warm with his love.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>St. Paul entered into Christ&#8217;s great Amen at the altar, as do we.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The readings for today&#8217;s Mass were:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"bibleReadingsWrapper\">\n<h4>Reading 1\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/2corinthians\/1:18\">2 COR 1:18-22<\/a><\/h4>\n<div class=\"poetry\">Brothers and sisters:<br \/>\nAs God is faithful, our word to you is not \u201cyes\u201d and \u201cno.\u201d<br \/>\nFor the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was proclaimed to you by us,<br \/>\nSilvanus and Timothy and me,<br \/>\nwas not \u201cyes\u201d and \u201cno,\u201d but \u201cyes\u201d has been in him.<br \/>\nFor however many are the promises of God, their Yes is in him;<br \/>\ntherefore, the Amen from us also goes through him to God for glory.<br \/>\nBut the one who gives us security with you in Christ<br \/>\nand who anointed us is God;<br \/>\nhe has also put his seal upon us<br \/>\nand given the Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bibleReadingsWrapper\">\n<h4>Responsorial Psalm\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/119:129\">PS 119:129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 135<\/a><\/h4>\n<div class=\"poetry\">R.
