self-giving in the Holy Eucharist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The readings for today&#8217;s Mass were:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wr-block b-verse bg-white padding-bottom-m\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"p-wrap col-lg-10 offset-lg-1 col-xl-8 offset-xl-2 col-xxl-6 offset-xxl-3 \">\n<div class=\"innerblock\">\n<div class=\"content-header\">\n<h3 class=\"name\">Reading 1<\/h3>\n<div class=\"address\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/genesis\/44?18\">Genesis 44:18-21, 23b-29; 45:1-5<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-body\">\n<p>Judah approached Joseph and said: &#8220;I beg you, my lord,<br \/>\nlet your servant speak earnestly to my lord,<br \/>\nand do not become angry with your servant,<br \/>\nfor you are the equal of Pharaoh.<br \/>\nMy lord asked your servants, &#8216;Have you a father, or another brother?&#8217;<br \/>\nSo we said to my lord, &#8216;We have an aged father,<br \/>\nand a young brother, the child of his old age.<br \/>\nThis one&#8217;s full brother is dead,<br \/>\nand since he is the only one by that mother who is left,<br \/>\nhis father dotes on him.&#8217;<br \/>\nThen you told your servants,<br \/>\n&#8216;Bring him down to me that my eyes may look on him.<br \/>\nUnless your youngest brother comes back with you,<br \/>\nyou shall not come into my presence again.&#8217;<br \/>\nWhen we returned to your servant our father,<br \/>\nwe reported to him the words of my lord.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Later, our father told us to come back and buy some food for the family.<br \/>\nSo we reminded him, &#8216;We cannot go down there;<br \/>\nonly if our youngest brother is with us can we go,<br \/>\nfor we may not see the man if our youngest brother is not with us.&#8217;<br \/>\nThen your servant our father said to us,<br \/>\n&#8216;As you know, my wife bore me two sons.<br \/>\nOne of them, however, disappeared, and I had to conclude<br \/>\nthat he must have been torn to pieces by wild beasts;<br \/>\nI have not seen him since.<br \/>\nIf you now take this one away from me, too,<br \/>\nand some disaster befalls him,<br \/>\nyou will send my white head down to the nether world in grief.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joseph could no longer control himself<br \/>\nin the presence of all his attendants,<br \/>\nso he cried out, &#8220;Have everyone withdraw from me!&#8221;<br \/>\nThus no one else was about when he made himself known to his brothers.<br \/>\nBut his sobs were so loud that the Egyptians heard him,<br \/>\nand so the news reached Pharaoh&#8217;s palace.<br \/>\n&#8220;I am Joseph,&#8221; he said to his brothers.<br \/>\n&#8220;Is my father still in good health?&#8221;<br \/>\nBut his brothers could give him no answer,<br \/>\nso dumbfounded were they at him.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Come closer to me,&#8221; he told his brothers.<br \/>\nWhen they had done so, he said:<br \/>\n&#8220;I am your brother Joseph, whom you once sold into Egypt.<br \/>\nBut now do not be distressed,<br \/>\nand do not reproach yourselves for having sold me here.<br \/>\nIt was really for the sake of saving lives<br \/>\nthat God sent me here ahead of you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wr-block b-verse bg-white padding-bottom-m\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"p-wrap col-lg-10 offset-lg-1 col-xl-8 offset-xl-2 col-xxl-6 offset-xxl-3 \">\n<div class=\"innerblock\">\n<div class=\"content-header\">\n<h3 class=\"name\">Responsorial Psalm<\/h3>\n<div class=\"address\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/105?16\">Psalm 105:16-17, 18-19, 20-21<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-body\">\n<p>R.
