Here we learn five lessons.<\/li>\n<li>On the pilgrimage of life we need to exert ourselves, like they did, in hiking this mountain.<\/li>\n<li>On the pilgrimage of life, Jesus wants to lead us apart to pray, and more specifically, to enter into his prayer: his communion with the Father, his discussion with Elijah and Moses and other figures who in God are very much alive, like we are able to do through Sacred Scripture. We enter into the &#8220;cloud&#8221; or mystery of prayer trying to focus &#8220;only on Jesus.&#8221; In prayer God the Father asks the question Jesus made in Caesarea Philippi, saying that Jesus is his beloved son.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>On the pilgrimage of life, we need to listen to Jesus, like God the Father called the apostles to do, despite the fact that they had been listening to Jesus for more than two years. God the Father knew they were selectively listening to Jesus and particularly tone deaf to his passion, death and resurrection.<\/li>\n<li>On the pilgrimage of life, we need to have this Tabor moments but then Jesus wants to lead us down the hill, into the world, and up Mount Calvary. We&#8217;re tempted to build Jesus booths, to keep the good times rolling, but Jesus has other plans.<\/li>\n<li>On the pilgrimage of life, Jesus intends to build a booth for us, within us, which is what happens every Mass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The readings for today&#8217;s Mass were:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"wr-block b-verse bg-white padding-bottom-m\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"p-wrap col-lg-10 offset-lg-1 col-xl-8 offset-xl-2 col-xxl-6 offset-xxl-3 \">\n<div class=\"innerblock\">\n<div class=\"content-header\">\n<h3 class=\"name\">Reading 1<\/h3>\n<div class=\"address\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/daniel\/7?9\">DN 7:9-10, 13-14 <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-body\">\n<p>As I watched:<\/p>\n<p>Thrones were set up<br \/>\nand the Ancient One took his throne.<br \/>\nHis clothing was bright as snow,<br \/>\nand the hair on his head as white as wool;<br \/>\nhis throne was flames of fire,<br \/>\nwith wheels of burning fire.<br \/>\nA surging stream of fire<br \/>\nflowed out from where he sat;<br \/>\nThousands upon thousands were ministering to him,<br \/>\nand myriads upon myriads attended him.<br \/>\nThe court was convened and the books were opened.<\/p>\n<p>As the visions during the night continued, I saw:<\/p>\n<p>One like a Son of man coming,<br \/>\non the clouds of heaven;<br \/>\nWhen he reached the Ancient One<br \/>\nand was presented before him,<br \/>\nThe one like a Son of man received dominion, glory, and kingship;<br \/>\nall peoples, nations, and languages serve him.<br \/>\nHis dominion is an everlasting dominion<br \/>\nthat shall not be taken away,<br \/>\nhis kingship shall not be destroyed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wr-block b-verse bg-white padding-bottom-m\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"p-wrap col-lg-10 offset-lg-1 col-xl-8 offset-xl-2 col-xxl-6 offset-xxl-3 \">\n<div class=\"innerblock\">\n<div class=\"content-header\">\n<h3 class=\"name\">Responsorial Psalm<\/h3>\n<div class=\"address\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.usccb.org\/bible\/psalms\/97?1\">PS 97:1-2, 5-6, 9 <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content-body\">R. \/>\nwhen we made known to you<br \/>\nthe power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,<br \/>\nbut we had been eyewitnesses of his majesty.<br \/>\nFor he received honor and glory from God the Father<br \/>\nwhen that unique declaration came to him from the majestic glory,<br \/>\n\u201cThis is my Son, my beloved, with whom I am well pleased.\u201d<br \/>\nWe ourselves heard this voice come from heaven<br \/>\nwhile we were with him on the holy mountain.<br \/>\nMoreover, we possess the prophetic message that is altogether reliable.<br \/>\nYou will do well to be attentive to it,<br \/>\nand led them up a high mountain by themselves.<br \/>\nAnd he was transfigured before them;<br \/>\nhis face shone like the sun<br \/>\nand his clothes became white as light.<br \/>\nAnd behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them,<br \/>\nconversing with him.<br \/>\nThen Peter said to Jesus in reply,<br \/>\n\u201cLord, it is good that we are here.<br \/>\nIf you wish, I will make three tents here,<br \/>\none for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.\u201d<br \/>\nWhile he was still speaking, behold,<br \/>\na bright cloud cast a shadow over them,<br \/>\nthen from the cloud came a voice that said,<br \/>\n\u201cThis is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased;<br \/>\nlisten to him.\u201d<br \/>\nWhen the disciples heard this, they fell prostrate<br \/>\nand were very much afraid.<br \/>\nBut Jesus came and touched them, saying,<br \/>\n\u201cRise, and do not be afraid.\u201d<br \/>\nAnd when the disciples raised their eyes,<br \/>\nthey saw no one else but Jesus alone.<\/p>\n<p>As they were coming down from the mountain,<br \/>\nJesus charged them,<br \/>\n\u201cDo not tell the vision to anyone<br \/>\nuntil the Son of Man has been raised from the
