400th Anniversary of the Canonization of
Saints Isidore the Farmer, Ignatius Loyola, Francis Xavier, Teresa of Avila and Philip Neri
March 12, 2022

On March 12, 1622, Pope Gregory XV celebrated the most historic canonization of all time, in which Saints Isidore the Farmer, Ignatius Loyola, Teresa of Avila, Francis Xavier and Philip Neri were all canonized.

In celebration of the occasion, at the normally scheduled Lenten Day of Recollection for the Leonine Forum in New York, there was a homily dedicated to the Lenten themes of conversion and holiness and conferences on the Lenten practices of prayer and almsgiving, featuring the words and examples of the five saints whose 400th anniversary is being celebrated today.
