The outline for meditation talk is as follows:
- We have a great privilege to go to spend a day in prayer at the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls today, where he is buried. There’s so much to take in from the life of St. Paul to help us as priests and God-willing as future priests.
- My own story going there on Saturday mornings to get to know him. He’s not easy to get to know.
- To grow closer to St. Paul, we must heed his words to the members of the early Church, “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ” (1 Cor 11:1). Imitating St. Paul is important for us if we’re going to be the Christians and God-willing the priests God wants for us to learn how to do this.
- Today, time permitting we can ponder ten things we can learn from St. Paul to help whet our appetite for what we’ll be seeing today.
- Conversion
- Evangelization
- Scripture
- Church
- Collaboration
- Charity
- Eucharist
- Cross
- Resurrection
- Holy Spirit
