Daily Reflection for November 25, 2025

Here is the video of today’s reflection.

The Youtube generated transcript for today’s reflection is:

I am Monsignor National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. It’s November 25th. I’m coming to you from the shrine of Our Lady of Martyrs from the ravine in which  St. Isaac Jogues and eventually buried reverently St. Rene Goupil body. That’s shown to us right here on this display from the letters that St. Isaac wrote back in the Jesuit relations to his Jesuit superiors in France. He said, “The young braves had taken the body of St. Rene up and dragged it to an adjoining wood where during the fall and winter it became the food of the dog, the crow, and the fox. When I had been told in the spring that the body had been dragged there, I went several times without finding it. Finally, on the fourth trip, I found Rene’s head and some half-noded bone. These I buried. Reverently did I kiss them as the bones of a martyr of Jesus Christ. He himself would follow St. Renee Goupil in martyrdom four years later on this same property together with St. Jean dean but the blood of the martyrs is always a seat of the church in 10 decary teaquita the earliest saint in US history was born today in the gospel Jesus is preparing us for the last things he said that at the end of time people are going to be looking for where the kingdom of god is and he says not to follow them he says even the temple is going to be destroyed all the jewels all the decades of work that went in to building that, it was all going to be torn down stone upon stone. So, we’re not going to find our ultimate solace, gripping on to the things of this world, including the holiest things. But we need to be ready always to find the kingdom where Christ the King is. Where is Christ the King? We find him speaking to us in sacred scripture. We find him healing us in the sacraments of baptism and confession. We find him feeding us in the sacrament of the holy eucharist. We find him giving us direction in the sacraments of holy orders and holy matrimony. We find him preparing us for eternity through the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. We find him strengthening us to carry out our mission through the sacrament of confirmation. We find the lord likewise in the poor because St. Rene Goupil found Jesus in all of these ways. He wanted everybody else to find him too. And so he left his native France and he came and did humble work alongside St. Isaac Jogues and trying to spread the faith to the indigenous, to the Mohawks, to the Iroquois, to the Hurons all throughout Canada and upstate New York. What an extraordinary example he leaves us. So where are we going to find the kingdom? We’re going to find the kingdom the same place that St. Renee Goupil and St. Isaac Jogues did. Let’s today choose Christ our King and follow him wherever he leads.

The Gospel reading on which the reflection was based on:

Gospel

While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, “All that you see here–
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”

Then they asked him,
“Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?”
He answered,
“See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end.”
Then he said to them,
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.”
