  • In response to all of them, Jesus says, “Take Courage, I have overcome the world.”
  • 69 times in Sacred Scripture God says “Fear not” or “Be not afraid” or “Take courage.”
  • Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict and Pope Francis have all stressed how fear is one of the most debilitating problems of the post modern age.
  • How Jesus seeks to en-courage us in the Holy Eucharist
    • “Take courage, it is I, be no afraid” — The image of the Church in the storm and the role of Jesus
    • Witnesses of how love for Jesus in the Eucharist, and Jesus’ love for us from within, makes us strong. The matters of Abilene. The Christians of southern Sudan. Fr. Jean-Marc Fournier. Cardinal Xavier Nguyen van Thuan.
