Pilgrimage to Rome and Italian Sanctuaries, February 11-21, 2015

Screen Shot 2014-04-01 at 11.50.53 AMFebruary 11-21, 2015, I’ll be leading a parish pilgrimage to Italy and invite you to join us. It’s a chance to buttress our faith and inspire us on the pilgrimage of life.

In addition to five days in Rome, we will also visit Assisi, the great Eucharistic shrines of Orvieto and Lanciano, the sanctuaries associated with St. Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo and Pietrelcina, Monte Cassino where St. Benedict and St. Scholastica are buried, Monte Sant’Angelo (the most famous shrine dedicated to St. Michael in the world), the tomb of St. Maria Goretti and the American military cemetery in Anzio and the famous Marian Sanctuary in Loreto than encapsulates the holy house of Nazareth brought to Italy by the Crusaders in the 13th century.

In Rome, we will get next Lent off to the best start possible by marking Ash Wednesday with Pope Francis in St. Peter’s Square. We will visit St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s tombs, hopefully have Mass on the tomb of soon-to-be St. John Paul II, visit the most famous Church in Rome dedicated to our Lady, visit the Colosseum, the Catacombs and much more.

The cost of the pilgrimage (because of the outrageous taxes on tourists in Italy, especially for air travel) is $3,550 per person double-occupancy, which includes all hotel costs, superb breakfasts and dinner each day,  all motor coaches, entrance fees, tips and the like.

We’ll be able to take 50 people, but based on the amount of people who have been asking me to lead another pilgrimage to Rome, I think it may fill up fast. So if you’d like to come, I’d encourage you to download of the brochure below, fill it out and send it to Stoppini Group Travel with your deposit.

Your family members and friends are certainly welcome to accompany you! But it is a very Catholic pilgrimage with some brisk walking so I urge you to invite only those who are fit enough to walk uphill in Assisi or Monte Sant’Angelo and who would look forward to daily Mass, prayer on the bus and other things rather than dread them!
